So this is my ileostomy “Jemima”, about a month after being formed in the operation that reversed my colostomy. Surgeons usually site ileostomies on the right, where the small intestine joins the colon, but they used the same hole in my abdomen where my colostomy was, so that I’d have one less wound to have to heal. It’s now 8 months since my emergency operation.
